Fins Christening

We had Fin Bena's christening on Sunday and it was a lovely afternoon. He looked amazing in the gown which Janet had made him from my wedding dress (thank you janet!!), the service was lovely, all the god parents turned up and looked like they meant it, and i was so proud i was nearly in tears twice. the reception afwewards we really nice too, my mum and dad had had the top tear of our wedding cake re-iced, with a little scroll with his name and a blue teddy on! the food was ace too (not that i got to eate any, was recovering from food poisioning damn it!) and it was all gone in about half an hour as apparently non of our firends or family seemed to have eaten for a week before hand! Fin got loats of beautiful presents, silver money box, a tankered, a spoon, a cutlery set, some posh clothes, dosh(he is now officially richer than me!) bibles, a guardian angle, (or is that angel?) and all sorts. if you got him anything I am planning on sending letters with the xmas cards (cheep in stamps) but here is a big THANK YOU to everyone, not just for the pressies, but for comming and make us feel our little family is so well loved and supported. I think it is your firends and family that influence how you travel through life, and with this mob in tow, our boy is sorted!

I have broken the cable on my camera... so no pictures now, will get on it though!

of course, i love mine, but fin is besotted with david! the last week he has had a stinking cold, and we have been a house of the plague. sleeping and eating have all gone blurgh, and fin hasnt always been his usual happy self. but now he is on the mend. i had a tuition with my phd supervisor today, and he wants me to have antoehr chpater finished by xmas! argh! but on the good side we are going for our first (extended) family holiday withdavids mum and dada to the canary islands in december.... woooohooo! will have to take enough stuff fo fin bean to sink a ship!

this is a picture from last weekend, when davids friends from london came down for the day, with their two boys callum and oli. we took them to the little animal park, and i spent all day with the fear becuase at some point fin will get that big!!

i am all excited because at the end of nov we are having him christened, in st marys at fratton, and he is wearing a chgristening gown made from my wedding dress made by the fab and talanted dr janet, who is super fantastic!! we have book a pub in old portsmouth and are so so squiahed for space we cant really invite everyone we want to, but it should be a lovely day. will get a picture of the gown on here when janet brings it round for the first fitting!

exciting!!

last night fin decided that being on his back was rubbish, and instead he would like to be on his front, so he flipped himself over and got on his knees as if to crawl!! how exciting. he then collapsed and ate carpet, but still it was eciting enough for me to run and get the camera!
