so on monday i start teaching as & a2 at a new place, and i went for a induction thing on thusday. it is great! seems very organised and friendly, and they are going to pay for me to do my pgce training... so thats good. while i was at that, nana came to stay and this is what we got up too, getting soaked at the new beach club at the sealife centre...

Also I have some exciting news, 3 of my friends are preggers again! Laura eves mummy is expecting and so is cathy abigales mummy, both due at the end of march ish. Also my good friend zoe from uni is expecting, and this is her 1st. ahhhh!

GGRRRRRRR!!!!!

I just found out that the institution at which I work (you know, the one where my phd is) isnt offering me any teaching at all this year. I used to have lots of seminar classes and my own unit, and then i had my own unit and covering some stuff for another lecturer, but that is the case no longer- they didnt even tell me, i had to email them to find out, and then after a polite enquirey on my part, i was told my priority should not be teaching but finishing my thesis- well buggeryou! I decide what my prioirty is and should be, and it is my family.... how dare some priviallaged male academic tell me what I SHOULD be doing!

WEEKEND

well, i have had fin yucky bug, but we were all recovered enough to go swimming on sunday.... and david is stil learning the 50 planes for his exam on tue. im learning stuff for teaching in september today (the roring 20s!) and then this afternoon fin and i are going to see somone from mummy group, who has a teeny tiny new baby!! ahhhh

the last few weeks

Hi, long time no see. I think where david is away in the week now I am having less time to do fun things like this- but still me and fin have been very busy!

We went up the spinnaker tower with janet who came to stay over night last week, fin LOVES janet, and as i rememebr always has, and we had a really nice time, apart from him being awake half the night..... i also had the nicest dinner cooked for me by her that i have had for ages...yummers!

we have been to erics first birthday party which was lovely, we went to staunton farm with nana, and fin really enjoed looking at all the animals, which was really cute. he also started his swimming lessons, such a big boy! i do have pictures of all of this, and wi,ll endevour to sort a few out in the next few days.

i am supposed to be doing phd

but instead i went to macro and bulk bought nappies, bog roll, kitchen towels and bleach. thi sis what i did what i was pregnant with fin, but this time i think it is a drivwe to get sorted now david is doing his new job, and is going to be away a few nights in the week.

i seem to think that if i bulf buy everything, then nothing can go wrong, or if the end of the world comes, at least i will be well stocked!

Fins 1st birthday!

Fins first birthday was last wedneday, and we had a fantastic time. Nana, Grandad and Grandma came down for the morning and we went out for lunch, then daddy had a half day and we took him to a play zone type place, where he went down slides into ball pits! It was ace. We are up to our necks in beautiful and thoughtful gifts, and i can say I am really touched at how much effort people went to to make this day special. Then on saturday he had a little party, the house got trashed! but it was great fun and again, a really special day. I cant beleieve he has been around for a year, it seems like he was never here.

BUSY

We have been very busy and have some news!

1= david has got a new job as an air traffic controller, so only fly on his days off! haha. he has done very very well, and i am very proud of him.

2=fin can WALK now. yes, be afraid.

3= i have an interview on monday to teach at southdowns.

Lots of new fin things!

Since monday my boy has been on a miles stone mission. On monday/tue my mum agreed that it isnt me imaginging it, he can indeed say a few words. This is his conversation reportoire: tickletickle, mumma, dadda, nanna, cat (sounds like Dat) and hello (sounds like hiya or hullo.) fab. Then yesterday at mummy group he took his first steps on his own between me and a plastic rocker. So so so proud!

What a fantastic weekend!!

This weekend we went up to Derby (6 hour drive!!) for my Aunty Sue and Aunty T's 25th Anniversary celebration weekend. They had hired a "cottage" more like a mansion, with a pool, bought a shed load of food and wine and invite the Spires and Jones mob and their mates all up for the weekend. It was ace, we saw a lot of sheep and baby sheep on hills, there was a pool, i kicked ass at the guess the lyric game and we went out for scrummmmmmy dinner on the saturday. fin was perfect, being very charming and flirty with everyone, and he has taken a bit of a shine to Tina and Karen, which was really cute. It was so so nice to see all of the family, and we had a fab time ( so did dave) so thank you to Sue and Tina, and congrats on your 25th!

WEEKEND

AS I TYPED, FIN WACKED THE KEYBOARD, AND NOW VAIO ONLY DOES CAPITALS.... GRRRR! WE ARE ALL FINE. FIN HAS HAS LAST WEEK AT BRAMBLES NURSERY THIS WEEK, AND THEN STARTS AT LITTLE WHALES...AHHH. I AM STARTING TO SINK UNDER A MOUNTAIN OF MARKING (MOST OF THE ESSAYS QUITE GOOD SO FAR, VERY ENCOURGAING)AND DAVE IS THE SAME AS EVER. LAST WEEK WE WERE ALL ILL WITH THE PLAGUE, WHICH STARTED WITH FEELING HOT AND COLD AND ENDED UP LIKE A NASTY COLD, ALL SNOTTY AND EUGH. (LUCKY ME) I AM PLAANING TO KNIT FIN A PRESIE FOR HIS B-DAY, SO IF ANYONE FINDS A PATTERN FOR A CHARMING TOY PLEASE LET ME KNOW. WAS THINKING OF SOMTHING LIKE A MONKEY....(AS HE IS ONE!)

the plague

i have it. i am feeling like crap. so to cheer myself up i shall recall what we have been doing: gin is now crusing along the furniture, eating picnics, saying "ta" and "dat" (instead of cat) and being delightful.
