part of me is a bit sad that we wont be around for the big festive build up. i dont mean having to listen to sodding noddy "its christmas" chap in every shop, but it might be nice to sit in the evening with just the fairy lights on and relax, i think it is the smell of the pine tree that makes it so special.
anyway, half way though putting up the tree we have come upon a hitch. the lights appear to be dead. and i have now spent david out three times to get new ones (long story) so hopefully it will be done soon and we can start packing. scary! i also wrote all our xmas cards last night, and so now i will finish my phd editing tonight, and then we can wrap pressies tomorrow night.
